Birthdays and Presents

Hello everyone! I finally finished the squid-dice-bag I've been working on. It is going to be a Birthday present for the boyfriend, (who hopefully doesn't read this blog. Because that would make me sad.)

It doesn't hold quite as much dice as I had hoped, but overall I am satisfied with how it turned out..!

Aaand speaking of presents, Bethany over at words, words, words is hosting a Giveaway on her blog! You could win an incredibly adorable bookmark, courtesy of Anna from airportlovestory.

The bookmark will be similar to the one pictured on the right, but it will come in plum purple colors!

It is super cute, and I am definitely entering, (especially considering that my bus ticket it getting a little beaten up.) So you should totally go Check It Out for a chance to win a gorgeous new bookmark!

Monsters, Bunnies, and Cats

My cat keeps jumping on the keyboard. She only does this when I'm on the computer. Even as I type, she is pawing at the keys and I have to keep editing. Sometimes she puts the computer in Stand By mode and I have never figured to how to turn it back on properly afterwards. Sometimes she tries to sleep in my lightbox.

Sometimes she sits in the bathtub, staring at me defiantly, when I try to take a shower.

But this is why I love her.

In almost completely unrelated news, I have two new button/magnet sets available in my shop.

The first features three little monsters: Jonesy, Gabriel, and Gertrude. The second features the little Heart Bunnies. And all of them love you. So much.

And in other news, it will be my birthday next month, and I was thinking of doing my first Giveaway to celebrate! (Hurray!) I just need to decide on which button set to use as a prize. Hrmm.

New Stuff and Etc.

Huzzuh! New listing!

I've added an "I Heart Sushi" set to my shop, and they can be bought as either a button or magnet set. It features three cute sushi characters as well as one "I Heart Sushi" pin/magnet.

I have also been contemplating selling wall decals as well. I work at a sign shop during the day and there is always extra vinyl for me to apprehend when nobody is looking. My favorite thing to make are little ladybugs.

They're really a lot of fun to stick all over the place. Windows, mirrors, doorknobs, microwaves, machinery at work...

Bookmark Goodness

I have learned recently that today is Bookmark Day, a time to honor and celebrate our favorite little page-keepers that work diligently to mark our pages and protect our books from dog-earism.

This is my current bookmark; the bus ticket from the station this evening. Bus tickets make wonderful bookmarks; they are generally just a smidgen taller than the book itself and they are full of useful information, in case you've forgotten where you are or where you're heading to. They are also a subtle reminder of how much money you spend on bus tickets every week.

It was unfortunate, however, that I fell asleep shortly after opening my book and therefore, this ticket was unable to optimally fulfill its duty.

Inspiration

Sometimes while browsing Etsy I'll find something absolutely wonderful and just have to share!

After lying eyes on Spiderbite's shop, I was simply in awe of her Nightmare Snatcher Journals. Combining two things that I dearly love, (furry monsters and notebooks), I knew that I was in
love.

Write down your fears, your worries, your bad dreams, and these "friendly but ferocious" journals and notebooks will munch up your despair for you. (But don't forget to recite the Nightmare Snatcher spell at the front of the book before writing!)

Nightmare Snatchers come in a vast array of colors and styles. From the contemplative Winston to the ever-diligent Swampmop, one of these furry friends is sure to suit your tastes. You can even get many of the styles custom-made in your choice of color!

I would personally love one of these to use as a dream journal. (I would keep him behind my pillow and feed him bad dreams!)

These adorable food-inspired charms, magnets, and jewelry are made by 11-year-old Elisa. This talented artist creates her work out of polymer clay, and I was stunned by the amount of detail that goes into each piece!

From cupcakes, to orange slices, to hotdogs, to sushi, your favorite treat is sure to be recreated somewhere in her shop. And if not, the artist welcomes custom orders, so you're sure to find exactly what you're looking for!

Super-cute and deceptively tempting, my mouth waters just from looking at these tiny treats! These savory pieces would be the perfect addition to any fridge, (or earlobe!)

The shop name "All For Jasmine" refers to the artist's boston terrier, Jasmine, who has been having health problems over the past few years. Elisa uses the earnings from her shop to help pay for Jasmine's medical expenses.

Presents

I had a rather lovely surprise this morning; my first sale! And, not only that, but I completed a trade today as well. I am so very delightfully excited!

Also spent the day taking photographs of various signage for work, so I didn't get to work on Etsy much. I did get my orders ready to ship though, and packaged them up all nice and pretty. I'll be mailing them out tomorrow :)

Shop Open!

Hello hello! I am happy to announce that my Etsy Shop, I Heart X, is finally open. I've been having so much fun creating my pinbacks and magnets, taking pictures, and getting everything organized. It is very rewarding to see my items listed all nice and pretty in an Etsy shop!

I am looking forward to working on my store. Lots of ideas for new buttons and magnets!
