I have learned recently that today is Bookmark Day, a time to honor and celebrate our favorite little page-keepers that work diligently to mark our pages and protect our books from dog-earism.
This is my current bookmark; the bus ticket from the station this evening. Bus tickets make wonderful bookmarks; they are generally just a smidgen taller than the book itself and they are full of useful information, in case you've forgotten where you are or where you're heading to. They are also a subtle reminder of how much money you spend on bus tickets every week.
It was unfortunate, however, that I fell asleep shortly after opening my book and therefore, this ticket was unable to optimally fulfill its duty.

I don't take the bus here, BUT I do have a Metro card from a trip to NYC, that I cherish and have used as a pagemarker before. :)
ReplyDeleteIs that a bus ticket? It's huge!
ReplyDeleteAlso, what book is this??
Anna - Wonderful! :D
ReplyDeleteBethany - Well it's a Greyhound ticket, so it's a bit bigger than a regular bus pass.
Also, the book is Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith :)
